Erica Sherman

Erica Sherman is a PhD candidate at Duke University studying the role of Catholic confraternities in the urban development of Ouro Preto, Brazil, beginning in the 18th century. Since 2009, she has been involved with the Visualizing Venice Project and WIRED! Lab, participating in workshops, teaching courses, and conducting research. She remains committed to using digital technology in both her teaching and her work, most recently analyzing the acoustics of Venice’s lost historical spaces, modeling change-over-time in the urban fabric of Ouro Preto, and mapping the racial construction of Brazilian urban spaces, especially as it relates to present-day development plans and access to pubic services. She is pleased to join the Wired! Group once again for their 2016 workshop at VIU.
